Blade technology for your home – BYD Battery-Box HVB 11.8
Until now, lots of storage capacity meant tall towers, heavy modules and a large footprint. The Battery-Box HVB 11.8 changes that. With the Blade battery proven in BYD electric vehicles, it achieves a significantly higher energy density than its predecessors – 11.88 kWh of usable capacity at a height of just 691 mm. A solid reserve for families with an electric car or heat pump.
Light, compact and installable by one person
Each of the 4 Blade modules weighs just 27.3 kg and has integrated handles – thanks to the cable-free plug-in system, one person can carry out the installation alone. Even the fully expanded 29.6 kWh configuration stays below 1.33 m in height. Up to three towers can be connected in parallel for a maximum total capacity of 89.07 kWh.
15-year warranty – the longest in its class
The cell-to-pack design of the cobalt-free Blade LFP cells is rated for at least 5,000 cycles. BYD underlines this with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty – five years longer than for the HVS+/HVM+ series.
Powerful even under high loads
With 50 A continuous current and up to 98 A peak current (15 s), the HVB reliably powers even power-hungry appliances. Its extended operating range of -20 °C to +50 °C makes it better suited to winter than almost any other home battery.
Smart management
Automatic SOC balancing when adding modules, remote diagnostics and over-the-air updates via the BYD Energy App keep the system up to date without an on-site visit.

Which inverters does the HVB work with?
The HVB series is compatible with hybrid inverters from leading manufacturers such as Kostal, Fronius, GoodWe, SMA and Solis – always refer to the latest BYD compatibility list.
Can I expand it later?
Yes – the tower grows in 2.97 kWh steps up to 29.6 kWh, and up to three towers can also be connected in parallel.
Where can the battery be installed?
Indoors or in a sheltered outdoor location (IP55, floor-standing) – thanks to its -20 °C operating limit, even unheated rooms are no problem.
